In our search for a professional sound, we have have been able to review several iOS music applications that make a simple iPad sound like an expensive keyboard or synthesizer.
We understand that for most musicians, it's a challenge to replace a music setup where we use a laptop or keyboard to perform live, with a simple iPad. However, we believe that the iPad is a powerful music instrument that every musician should consider. For that reason, we decided to create a new segment on our forum titled "Tips & Gadgets". Surely at this point, you may have experimented with several virtual instrument apps such as Sunrizer, Zeon, CMP Piano, Neo Soul Keys, among others. These apps deliver excellent sound quality and offer several parameters to configure internal effects within the apps. These effects are usually known as delays, reverbs and in some cases, choruses or other modulation effects. Those effects give us the possibility of altering the original sound. However, these internal effects can be very basic or limited. To solve this limitation, we can use external audio plugin effects.
This is where the fun begins!
Depending on which app we are using, the effects can offer different parameters and variations that allow us to create unique sounds.

DELAY / REVERB
Nowadays, delay and reverb are part of the primary effects sounds used by musicians. These effects help us to create interesting phrases such as adding a delay with short repetitions. Using a well-pronounced reverb would intensify our melodies by adding a rich ambiance to our sound. UltraTap is a versatile multi-delay effect. It offers us a wide variety of sounds, from rhythmic and rare delays to strange comb filters, huge swell volume increases, and unique reverberations, tremolos and everything that is found in the middle.
BLACKHOLE
Blackhole is a classic eventide reverberation effect that is capable of producing huge spaces and unusual ambient sounds.
